Tongues and sounds

Feb 06, 2017 20:28

I have discovered that one of my most loved moments are when I hear my 3 grown sons talking with the 3 little boys in the family. The will have conversations that are almost a duplicate of those I had with each of them. They speak with the little'uns like they are intelligent. When the little boys miss a word, the big boys will stop them, and sound the words out, breaking the words into syllables and then slow the blended sounds down, repeating them over and over even showing them how to place their tongues against their teeth. They will look at the little ones and say, "look at my nose" to get them to pay atttention. Repeating the sounds until the boys get them. Afterwards they will help them form sentences with the word. Just like I did.

These moments are the times I think I've done something right in all of these years.

ODB to his son Ru: Stop spitting on the book! That's gross! Then there's those moments. LOLLLLLLL
