Title: A New Beginning

its time for Richard, Kahlan, Zedd and Cara to go home.

Chapter 1
As Kahlan sat by the camp fire, she couldnt help but think about what she had done.
She killed the man she loves and even though Cara brought Richard back and he's told her over and over again that he forgives her, she was in the Con Dar and she wasnt herself. She cant help but think that it was her who almost helped the keeper win.
She was so lost in thought that she didnt even realize Richard had risen from his bedroll and was standing right next to her, staring down at her. She looked up at him and smiled, he took it as a sign that it was alright for him to sit next to her. He continued to stare and she knew he knows that something is bothering her. Richard finally took in a deep breath and asked.
"What are you thinking about?" he said it so low she barely heard what he said.
She looked at him from the corner of her eye and saw that he was staring at her again "Its nothing really, I'm fine" She knew richard didnt believe her and she could never keep secrets from him. She knew she could tell Richard anything, it was one of the reasons why she loved him so much. So she took a deep breath, looked at him and told him the truth "I was just thinking about the day I killed you, again!!"
Richard sighed and took her hands in his "Kahlan you know you werent yourself, you dont have to keep thinking about this" he wasnt angry at her for bringing it up again, she knew he wouldnt be but she couldnt help but be angry at herself.
"I know, I Know!! I'm sorry for bringing it up. Its just that what-What if Cara wasnt able to bring you back that day? Things would be different right now, you would be dead Richard." She felt the tears starting to form in her eyes but she could help it she kept seeing his death "Richard I dont know what I would have done if, if you had died. I would have wanted to die just so I could be with you. I was so...."
"Kahlan, Kahlan look at me i'm here, i'm right here and I forgive you for everything that happened even though theres nothing to forgive" She didnt even realize that she was crying until Richard reached up and wiped a tear that had escaped down her cheek. He took her in his arms and held her as if she was the most precious thing in the world.
Kalan couldnt remember the last time her and Richard were able to be alone like this, although they werent completly alone, Zedd was snoring away and Cara was just outside on watch. But now that they had time to themselves she wanted to talk to Richard about what had happend when she tried to confess him.
She pushed back just enough to look Richard in the eyes "Richard!"
"Hmm!!" He said, a look of concern on his face.
"I wanted to talk to you about, when I confessed you" She saw that this was a raw subject for him. He looked slightly uncomfortable but interested in what she had to say.
"Okay! We can talk about it. Even though theres not much to say. I love you Kahlan and your power didnt affect me because I couldnt love you anymore than I already do."
"I know Richard, I wanted to tell you that since my power doesnt harm you we can finally be together and maybe, just maybe get married."
"I know and I agree with you one hundred percent." He gave her the biggest smile she thought she had ever seen. It made her heart skip just seeing him smile at her.
"So, why didnt you bring this up before?" He asked her.
"It was never the right time!"
Richard looked at her and started to laugh so loud, she thought he was gonna wake Zedd, but Zedd didnt even stir. "And now's the right time with Zedd snoring right next to us and Cara possibly killing something outside ha ha ha ha"
Kahlan couldnt help but laugh along with him, seeing him happy and alive right next to her made her forget about what she had done for the moment. She kept thinking that maybe now she can finally start to forgive herself.
They had finally stopped laughing and just stared at eachother. When all of a sudden Richard did something Kahlan thought he would take forever to do. He cupped her face in his hands and whispered "I Love You Kahlan" and gently but passionately kissed her. For the first time since the rift has been closed she was able to forget about all the bad things that happend and just enjoy being alive and being with the man she loves. They would continue there journey to Aydindril together to celebrate a new beginning.
