Summary: James and Mercury finally meet, with no help whatsoever from Sirius Black.

James bounded down the steps of his new apartment flat, grinning. Mercury had said she was staying in Paj-Tessera, and if he remembered correctly, that was housed in the building near the park. Stepping out into the street, he paused to circle his Gryffindor scarf once more around his neck and shrugged about forgetting his cloak. The weather wasn't bad, just a tad dreary, but every now and then the sun would peak out from beneath the clouds and it felt like spring.
He strode down the street, carefree and nonchalant. Since the attack and then the sudden move, he hadn't really gone out of his way to meet anyone. And that was a bloody shame! He's was JAMES POTTER, for Merlin's sake! At school he had been popular, surrounded by friends and admirers and even a few people who fancied themselves his rival. Being just another guy here was something he wasn't used to, nor was he happy with it. Things were settling down and it was very nearly spring, no time like the present to be sociable.
Passing the fountain, James jogged the last few meters to the next apartment. One hand going to to his hair, he combed his fingers through, making it nice and attractively rumpled. Taking the stairs, he whistled a jaunty tune, in no real hurry. Four flights of stairs later, he finally made it to the right door. He gave a few knocks.
