Kairi hummed happily to herself as she walked down the hallway of Ci, the vial (hopefully) containing the antidote in one hand and her notebook in the other. She'd been especially careful over the last few days while she made the antidote, taking precise notes so she would know what she'd done if something were to go wrong (again). With no real way to test it for ill effects, she'd been nervous. Why, oh why did all her potions have to have such ill effects? She'd never had this much trouble back home ( ... )

Aligoté got to his feet and opened the door for Kairi when he heard her knocking and speaking through the closed portal. He thought the way she addressed him was a little odd, but said nothing. After all, he'd heard her do the same to others, so it must just have been a habit of hers. Much in the same way many people added suffixes like -san and -chan to people's names here. He'd come across a lot of dialects in his life.

"Come in," he said, holding the door for her. "Don't know where any of my roommates are, so it's pretty quiet. Jing's sleepin' in the other room." He hadn't seen Aya in quite a while, and couldn't recall actually even MEETING Alex, and didn't really care to know the whereabouts of the crazy one whose name he forgot.

"Kinda glad you came up with an antidote," he admitted. "We were starting to worry since it didn't seem like it was wearin' off. Usually the crazy stuff around here goes away on its own."

"Thank you," she said as she entered and turned, holding up the vial of pearly liquid, "I can't guarantee you'll be able to get him to drink it, but it should be able to return him."

Her face reddened in embarrassment at him pointing out the potion not wearing off, looking at the ground and laughing a little nervously.

"I'm sorry about that. Everything I've been attempting has been going wrong somehow and . . . I should have double checked before I even offered it to him!"

Really now! Part of her was debating giving up potion-making altogether with her track record as of late.

Aligoté took the vial, handling it carefully, holding it up to peer at the strange liquid contained within. "I think he'll drink it if we ask him to. If needed, can we mix it in something? You could put anything in hot chocolate and he'd gulp it down." Although it would mean giving him more sugar, which was ultimately dangerous and headache inducing.

"Eh?" The winged boy looked at Kairi's blushing. "Hey, we already said it ain't your fault. 'Sides, you said you gave it to him to help heal him up, right? That an' Jing wouldn't have drank it unless he was okay with testing something you made for you."

He tilted his head curiously. "You make a lot of stuff like this? Uhh, not the turning-into-small-kids variety, but potions in general?"

Cassis was still feeling uncertain. It was strange. She knew Jing couldn't stay this way. It... wasn't right. Yet she had no explanation why it wasn't. If someone had asked her why he had to change back, she wouldn't have been able to form a very convincing answer. It didn't seem logical to most, she figured, to want someone happy to go back to being sad, but...

On the other hand, Kir would be quite happy to have his partner back. Jing has a kid was tiring to handle and there was also... that bond they shared missing. The emotional one, not the physical one. It made him lonely even if he was right beside him. His wing was still healing, still bandaged. It no longer hurt, but he still couldn't use it. Maybe that was selfish, but...

The door was slightly ajar, so Cassis peeked in curious. "Aligoté?"

Aligoté was just cleaning up a little since Kairi had left. He didn't want to make too much noise since Jing was still sleeping, having worn himself out (again) with playing out in the snow.

"Hey Cassis," he answered, when he saw her peeking in. "Kir."

Cassis smiled when he greeted them, glancing at Jing before she entered the room quietly. Kir nodded in acknowledgment, but didn't say anything.

"Did Kairi come with the potion already?" Cassis asked.

"Yeah, she left not too long ago," Aligoté replied, going to the table and picking up the vial which had been left. He'd been very careful, not wanting anything to happen to it.

"She says all he has to do is drink it an' he'll change back. Or, he should anyway."
