[Thread] Resolving Conflict(LOL unresolved)

When: Day after Mello's Birthday OH NOES
Summary: Mello goes out to get some air. He feels oddly uncomfortable inside today. Hopefully things with him and AU!Matt will be resolved and they'll be BFFS like they should be :|

Matt was heading to the mess hall, walking a little slowly so as not to slip and fall on the icey path, had the people who ran this place never heard of salting a walkway? Be a good way to avoid any potential slipping and broken legs etc. But not like she expected much from them, you learned that after a few months here.

She shrugged her shoulders to inch the fur trimmed collar of her coat a little higher, dipping her chin into it as she walked along, a shield against the chill air. The redhead really wasn't one for winter, or cold temperatures, or hell even being outside.

Which was why she didn't bother to pay much attention to Mello when she saw him, she was spretty sure it was the one she'd fallen out with and that was as good a case to avoid him as any. Matt didn't want to deal with any stupid arguing right now, she she steadfastly continued on past him, not saying a word.

Mello looked up when he heard footsteps. "Figures." Mello muttered, making note of how she ignored him as she walked past. He folded his arms, huddling under his coat as he watched her warily. She didn't want to bother, so why should he try again. He was fairly certain she didn't want to make up, and if that's what she wanted why should he keep asking her to?

Sure he only tried a few times, but she had made her answers loud and clear. He would try to admit that he wasn't hut by it, but the way he looked up for a moment might give it away. That was, if anyone who knew him saw and was paying attention.

"Never figured you would go that low, Matt." He growled slightly. Despite being hurt, he was also annoyed. He had tried, and she was being so god damn stubborn. "I didn't buy into that not wanting to waste it. You know it's just gone to waste anyway since you sent it back."

Matt would have ignoed that first mutter, she was goin to talk to him if all he could do was talk unde his breath about her. If he actually spoke up and addressed her, that was different, and of course he did... Matt was glad to see he still could.

Stopping she turned around, sticking her hands in her pockets and looking at him with her head cocked slightly for a long moment. "I never thought you'd do what you did, we both got a surprise." She wanted to shake her head but refrained.

Maybe he actually felt like how she'd felt now. The rejection, Matt curled her fingers in her pockets tightly. Yeah, she'd felt a little bad after doing it, wondering if she'd taken a step too far, but then so had he.

"You should have just thrown the fucking box away. You don't fucking care. I get it. You didn't have to rub it in my face." Mello made a face before pulling his hood over his head. He looked away, wondering if he should just get up and walk away or if he should just sit and watch her walk away from him. He knew that's what she'd do, or at least what he'd suspected her to do.

Mello pulled out his half eaten bar of chocolate. He stared at it for several moments before dropping it at his side. He thought that apologizing was the right thing to so then, but she just threw it away like it meant nothing. Didn't she know that Mello didn't apologize for nothing?
