Faye had been waiting anxiously for several days, leaving the building as briefly and infrequently as possible, and lurking around the front door with an eye out for the Warden. She had been waiting to confront him; she was prepared for this to be a confrontation that she would lose, but dammit she sure as hell wasn't going to back down.

But Faye had to sleep sometime. And it was just her luck that the Warden would show up as she was sleeping in late after a restless night.

Her eyes snapped open as she felt the whole building begin to vibrate, and the air filled with dust. She rolled to her feet, already dressed, and quickly threw on her bomber jacket, pockets already loaded with the essentials. She sprinted for the door of her first-floor apartment, and then toward the door of the building, but before she could reach it- the walls and ceiling folded, crumpling inward, blocking her escape. Shit! The air was thick with dust, she couldn't see, couldn't breathe; Faye bent over in a coughing fit, her eyes streaming with tears

There was no shortage of people in the peanut gallery smirking and talking amongst themselves, but as Faye headed toward the crowd, meaning to shove through them and go take a bath in what was officially her new apartment in Building One, she picked out the sound of only one quiet laugh. She snapped her head around to glare at the source of the offending noise, stopping abruptly and putting her hands on her hips. "What the hell are you laughing at?!" she snarled.

Faye narrowed her eyes, stalking angrily closer to Mr. Funny Guy Robes-and-Veils. "Oh yeah?" she retorted, clenching her fists. "Well in a minute what won't be obvious is where your face ends and where the pavement begins!"

Shocked out of her anger, Faye recoiled, taking a step back with a horrified look on her face. "Gahh!!" she exclaimed. "Dude, what happened to you, a grease fire?!"

Tact. She has it.

Faye looked slightly doubtful. "...Really? ...Wow, that sucks. Tough luck for you, pal." She stared in mildly horrified fascination as his skin... moved, eww. She blinked a few times. "...You know, I feel a little bit better about myself now."

She narrowed her eyes at him. "I wasn't planning on still being inside when it fell. The Warden snuck up on me!" Her voice took on a slightly whining tone.

Faye sneered at him. "I was planning on trying to force him to do his damn building project elsewhere. In the event of him being an asshole and bringing down the building anyway, I was planning on jumping the hell out of the way!"
