Yamato wandered around the park some, thinking of finding a nice and quiet place to do...something in. He hadn't decided if he wanted to get in any sword practice or harmonica practice or what today. He was just feeling somewhat restless, so had went outside to work it off.

He spied a vaguely familiar person as he walked, recalling that time several months earlier when they had crossed paths before. This was a friend of Fubuki's...Yusuke, that was his name. Yamato wandered over to say hi; it had been a bit too long since they'd talked in his opinion suddenly.

Taking a moment to take a small break from his work - he couldn't take this too fast, after all, or risk signs of fatigue showing through (not to mention, in light of recent events, that he needed to keep at least some strength up in case of another attack) - Yusuke stretched a little bit and looked around.

Ah, there was someone who he hadn't seen in a while. Smiling, Yusuke waved to Yamato in greeting from where he sat.

"Hey," the blond said as he came closer. "Mind if I sit?" He had kept something of an eye on Yusuke via the journals, though nothing very intense. Just enough so he knew that the problems that Yusuke had had when they'd first met were long since disposed of. And, of course, he'd made some sweets for Yusuke to share with his boyfriend for Christmas.

"I don't mind at all," Yusuke replied, putting the crystal he had been working with back in the bag that he had been carrying it in - he preferred to keep it in there when he wasn't doing anything with it, since it was ultimately safer that way.

Yusuke had somewhat kept an eye on Yamato on the network as well, though only really enough to know that he was still there. And, of course, there had been gifts exchanged at Christmas.

"I never got the chance to thank you, by the way," he said. "The cookies you sent for Christmas were delicious."

"Glad that you liked them." Yamato settled down near Yusuke, where they could still easily talk to each other. "So how have things been with you?" The PDAs were useful to keep aware of the presence of others, but sometimes, talking face to face was better, for the more personal touch.

"For the most part, things have been all right," Yusuke replied. "A lot of stuff has happened, but everything's a lot better than the last time we talked." Not everything that had happened had been good, but a lot of it had been.

His hand drifted subconsciously to his deck holder, one stroke across which reassured him that yes, the Clear deck was still there. Not that he had really doubted it, but he did need to make sure on occasion.

Yamato's eyes followed the movement. He had spent enough time around Fubuki and Saioh to recognize a Duel Monsters deck when he saw one, though Saioh didn't keep his out anywhere near as much as he did his Tarot deck.

"Good." Yamato was glad to see that his friends were doing well. "Things have been...all right with me." That was a rather loose definition of all right, though. His own hand tightened slightly across the ring on his left hand. He refused to get depressed about it.

At least, not where anyone could see him.

"Being all right is a good thing, here," he replied with a nod. Something in the way Yamato responded told Yusuke that this wasn't the entire story, but he wasn't going to ask. If Yamato didn't want to talk about it, that was something that should be respected.

Besides, who was completely all right in this place anyway? Everyone was far from home, just trying to get by from day to day when half of the danger came from everyone else in the compound itself. Anyone who didn't have any problems at all... well, their sanity was probably questionable.

After a moment, seemingly at random, he asked, "Do you still play the harmonica?"

Yamato nodded some, digging it out of his pocket. "I'm doing a lot better with the guitar, too." He smiled some and tossed the harmonica a little. "Want to hear anything?" Some practice might get his mind away from things before he had a chance to start moping.

Yusuke nodded, slightly. "If you want to play anything, I'd love to hear it." If he remembered right, Yamato's music had been quite pleasant to listen to, and though he wasn't in any particular need of distraction at the moment as he had been the last time they had met (hard to believe it had been almost a year), he doubted that he would like it any less.

Yamato considered for a few moments, then started to play. It was a little happier than he thought he could be at times, but it was also strong and quite easy on the ears. It was something from the Digital World, a tune that Piemon had taught him some years ago.

As Yamato played, Yusuke listened. He, himself, had never been all that good at music, but he still liked to listen to it. And this time, he wasn't specifically in need of a distraction - he was able to listen to the music simply for the enjoyment of it.

And he did enjoy it.

Yamato kept on playing, segueing neatly into another song once that was over with. Once he was finished with that one, he lowered his harmonica down to his lap. "I should've brought something to drink," he mused. He was a bit dry after that.

Had Yusuke brought anything to drink, himself, he would have offered it to Yamato. He hadn't brought anything, though, having not thought to do so.

"Sorry, I didn't bring anything either," he apologized. "But I really liked it."
