Dom didn't start at the sound of her voice suddenly ringing in his ears despite the fact that she didn't previously announce her presence. It was a strong possibility he had already known of her approach from several minutes ago. His attention stayed focused on his current, somewhat unidentifiable (at the moment), task. He seemed to be examining the wall but that didn't quite sum it up entirely right.

"I know," he said simply without looking at her. He lingered a moment more before turning around to glance at her form. He was taken aback by her ears for a second but quickly recovered. He smirk-smiled briefly. "Lieutenant Riza," he acknowledged with a nod.

He continued to gaze at her for a while, a vaguely curious expression on his countenance and his head tilted slightly to one side. Then he glanced away to the Obex for a second and back. "I've done my homework. I know what they'll do. I also know exactly how close I can get to it before they take notice and how long it takes for them to loose interest once I back off a bit." He smiled again, this time a bit bitterly but with a confidence like one with a tiny secret.

She gave Dom a bit of a smile as she was recognized. She wondered just exactly what he had been doing, but she shrugged a bit as she swung her rifle off of her back and looked down the scope at the ground for a second before looking back up at him.

"You're probably the only one to do something like this."

Dom's eyes watched the rifle with a keen gaze as she moved it about. He was gauging it for one, and wary of her intentions for two. He wasn't very fond of sniper rifles--that is, unless he was wielding them.

Carmine (A) had died from a sniper's bullet. Dom didn't plan on joining the Gear anytime soon.

He shrugged and waved a hand idly at the wall. "Said I wasn't gonna sit around on my ass all Frost."

The rifle that she carried was probably an antique to him, but it had been standard issue when she had first gotten it. She wasn't going to attack him, no, she wasn't that stupid. That and he hadn't done anything to her.

"I see." She said with a slight smile as her tail swayed a bit behind her.

Whether the gun looked like an antique to him was besides the fact--it was foreign and different than anything he'd seen before. Not that that really made much of a difference in the end. A gun was a gun was a gun was a gun. It was deadly no matter the make. It did, however, remind him more of an old Innie gun rather than an old-style Longshot. No glowy articulations.

"It would be stupid, wouldn't it?" he said, trying his best to ignore the swishing object as he grinned at her.

"To each their own. Not many have studied the keepers, at least, not many have that I know of. Who knows what people do." She said with a bit of a shrug. Her rifle was just a simple bolt-action model, something that she knew how to use that gave her the nickname of the one with "The Eyes of a Hawk."

Longshots were bolt-action, single shots; that at least was similar. But the Longshot also had a powerful scope, semi-computerized for those Gears that actually wore their regulation helmets (and therefore the HUD afforded by them), and a more "modern" look to them--whatever that meant.

Dom mirrored her shrug with one of his own. He certainly didn't know the answer to that question--good thing it was rhetorical. Even if he had been here long enough to observe people more, he probably wouldn't. It was just the general way society worked. Still, he could only speculate on the things such as info gathering and whatnot comprised of fighting a war. A war that Dom was beginning to wonder really existed.

"Beats sitting around all day doing nothing," he replied. "And it could be useful one day."

"It might. Someone might ask for information and who knows what might come in handy in this place." She said with a slight smile. She turned her gold cat-like eyes up to the Keepers and sighed. Any shot she shot at them wouldn't do any good and would likely hurt someone on the way down.

Dom's eyes wandered upwards but not for very long. He glanced back over his shoulder at the huge wall and then back to her. "You never know. So it's better than not having it..." he trailed off.

"I'll get back to it," he said a second later, already half turning to go. He glanced back at her one last time though.
