Where: all around Econtra on the outskirts of the compound near the Obex
When: backdated to the second day after Dom's arrival (his third day here), morning and afternoon
Summary: Dom explores his new surroundings a bit more thoroughly, and specifically observes the object that keeps them locked in physically--as well as any movements by the Keepers above brought on by his movements. (He's doing his homework like a good little boy.)

Santiago really meant what he'd said to anyone who had answered his first comment on the communicator/journal system. First, that he didn't plan on fighting in this war. So far that was an easy enough task. There wasn't really any fighting going on around here anyway. Not war stuff; little spats between civvies didn't count. Second, he wouldn't sit on his arse all day, everyday, and not do anything at least with a moderate fraction of being somewhat useful. Mostly he was interested in just finding a way out of the compound. Even if that meant roaming a lifeless planet at this point in time.
That latter idea didn't appeal too much but it was better than being someone's (an unknown someone at that) pet prisoner of "war." And he'd seen plenty enough of lifeless landscape back home. More or less. It wouldn't kill him...
He missed Maria. --But he wouldn't let that take him over right now. No, he had a self-imposed job at hand to focus on. He couldn't dwell. Dom took a deep breath and looked around. He was skirting awfully close to the Obex now and he kept glancing upwards at the sky to watch the hovering balls of energy up there. He didn't want to die before he could see the end of the Locust-Human war. He didn't want to die before he figured out this "little" puzzle he'd been thrown into either. He didn't want to die before he found a way out. And he would. Eventually.
...He kept telling himself. He was confident. His commando training was never wasted. He truly believed he could do anything he set his mind to. He scouted the compound in this manner for the entire day. It was interesting work if nothing else.
