Characters: AU!Al Elric, AU!Manjoume Jun Where: The Plaza When: Mid-Afternoon Summery: Alice is drawing Circles in the plaza and Manjoume just wanders by. Warnings: Alchemy nerdiness.
Where was he going? If one were to ask Manjoume that question, he would glare at the asker, most likely, seeing as he didn't have an answer. It wasn't as though he was going anywhere by compulsion or anything (because if he were he wouldn't be consciously aware of the path he was taking, he told himself); he just needed to wander around for a little while and get some exercise.
As he walked, he happened past someone drawing circles on the ground. If it were most other things, he probably would have continued on his way, but something about some of those circles seemed somewhat familiar. Some of the symbols used, anyway - they weren't exactly alike, but he remembered seeing some of them mentioned in Alchemy class in his first year.
And thus, as a half-way subconscious action, he paused his walking, wondering just what the girl was doing.
Alice looked up from her drawing when she noticed someone pausing to watch her. "Oh, Hello." She said pleasantly before continuing to draw out some symbols and then erasing them again. She didn't like the way that this circle was turning out. Of course she was only using one hand since her other arm was still in a sling and she couldn't use it.
Manjoume nodded silently in greeting, watching the girl draw the circles a little while longer. He'd never seen all that much practical use for alchemy back in his own world - most of what Daitoukuji-sensei had shown the classes were either mostly basic chemistry experiments or blowing random things up in his face. (Then again, if certain things in that other Judai's world held true for his own, maybe he'd just been hiding real alchemy from his students in order to hide his intentions.) But if someone was attempting it here, maybe there was some use for it after all, at least in other worlds.
After a couple minutes, he decided that it couldn't hurt to do so and asked, "What are you doing?"
"Working on some transmutation circles." She said, not looking up from her work until she finished the circle off. It wasn't a very big one, but it had taken her a good amount of time in order to draw it out. She wasn't sure if it would work or not, but she wasn't going to try. At least, not here.
She wanted Ed here to try and bounce ideas off, but he wasn't, so she just sat down against the fountain and looked up at Manjoume. "These are just some experiments."
