Padmé had known about her granddaughter's presence within the compound for a while now, but as she'd told the girl, she'd not said anything out of a need to not cause the younger woman any unnecessary stress. While some may have expected the bold former senator to speak up and be blunt, she also possessed a great deal of tact: something that her fallen husband seemed to lack at the most inappropriate of times.
She understood that she would probably be talking a great deal about Anakin. She knew that Ahsoka had been telling Jaina all that she knew about him and aside from herself and Obi-Wan, there was no one else who knew him better. Padmé knew that the young girl's death at the hands of General Grievous had done nothing but help push Anakin closer to the Dark Side, as his mother's death had done years before. Losing those who were close and dear to him was never something he handled well; something she knew now that Palpatine had been aware of just as much as she had.
Whatever Jaina wanted to know, she'd tell her. There was no reason to lie and hide things, especially from family who had a right to know what happened to a man who was once the greatest Jedi the galaxy had ever seen.
