Ed was laying on her stomach, trailing her hands through the old water in the defunct fountain. Next to her, the PDA was resting face down on the cement wall. Her legs were sticking up behind her, crossed at the ankles, and swinging in the air. As expected, her feet were shoeless and sockless, toes wriggling freely in the breeze as she hummed to herself. As Faye got closer, words became clear.

"Fishies fishes... no fishies here... fishes all gone~."

Faye spotted Ed and stopped in her tracks. She had the sudden urge to laugh, and settled for a smirk. There she was, the same as she'd always been, a comforting beacon of normality in a world turned upside down. For a second it felt like things were back to how they used to be... before Faye and Ed had left the Bebop, before Spike had gone off to die.... A second later the illusion was gone, but the feeling remained, and Faye held onto it fiercely. It was warm. It was home.

Faye took a breath and walked forward, stopping a few strides away from the girl, a hand on one hip and maintaining her smirk. "Yeah, you're not gonna find any fishies in there, Ed."

"Aww~..." came the characteristic whine. Ed sat up, her tanned, pink-cheeked face grinning up at Faye for the moment. "Ed saw a pond in the park!" she then said. "Maybe fishies in there?" she asked.

"Yeah, maybe," she replied, "I haven't really looked. I hope so. If the Indigeo doesn't come back online eventually, we're gonna be running out of food. ...You've been wandering around some, huh? How long have you been here, Ed?"
