"Ooh, givin' speeches? Ain't that cute. What's next, runnin' for office?" Sawyer called with his typical, annoying mix of cheerful sarcasm, taking a bite from the apple he was eating and completing the image of complete disinterest. He wasn't here for any sort of meeting; his shop just happened to look out over the square, and he'd wandered out to see what all the shouting was about. Sort of habit from the island where Jack or Locke did this about every other day.

One thing was for sure, he was not joining some army to defend what was really nothing more than a fancy prison; he wasn't stupid and in his mind that was just a good way to get killed. Still, heckling was always fun which was why he was here.

Sylvanas had expected hecklers. That didn't change her reaction. She shot him a blood-red glare -- not the least because he had called her actions cute. But she ignored his question. "Actually, I have a question for you. You run some kind of store, correct? What sort of things do you 'sell?'"

Sawyer met the glare with a smirk and took another bite of his apple. "Well now sister, I ain't just gonna go givin' out a list of all I got. Good way to attract thieves. You list what you want and what you're willin' to trade for it and if I got it I say so. That's the way it works 'round here."

"I see. Nothing specific, for now." Putting aside the appearance of anger, she eyed him up and down. An attractive enough human, as far as she could tell. Cocky. Canny. If the Warden talked to him sometimes, he must be smart, although difficult. "But I'll definitely keep you in mind," she purred, cruel sarcasm saturating every syllable.

Sawyer handled being checked out by some weird not human chick the same way he did everything else; with a smirk. Yeah, he was used to it, and, yeah, he was cocky enough to think that. "Keep me in mind for anythin' you want, sugar." He shot back, adding, "So, you got a plan for your little revolution, or you just organizin' everyone?"

It occurred to her that this man could be manipulated, if he thought she was interesting enough...and she made it look like he was the clever one. She smiled slightly, showing a little too much of her perfectly white canine teeth. "I have a plan, if enough people are willing to cooperate. I've suggested units for them to volunteer for. I'll work from there."

The con-man snorted softly, clearly amused. As far as Sawyer was concerned, she was going about this all the wrong way. Walking around announcing you had a plan and assuming people were going to volunteer out of the goodness of their hearts never worked. "So you get your units. What then, general?"

Such mockery. "Then I, with the assistance of those who volunteered, work at improving this place. So people have a purpose -- a job, if you will," she said calmly. "Really, now, I thought you'd understand that."
