The clipped and abrupt tone Beryl had unexpectedly used over the communicators had rather startled Jadeite. He'd put his communicator away immediately, without thinking. He knew from his own world that to disobey a summons was dangerous, especially when Beryl was angry. This Beryl, the one here, was kinder, gentler. Yet Jadeite knew that she still held a temper. Was she angry with him? Why?
With a flourish of his cape, the blonde was in the apartment. A few steps further brought him into their room. He knelt immediately before his queen, head bowed respectfully, submissively.
"Beryl-sama," he greeted in a quiet tone.
