One other had the same idea as Siegfried. This other being the crime fighting hero, Darkwing Duck. Without rampant crime around, he was sure he would lose his touch. It was his solitary nature to go somewhere with few people and do so at the point where many would still sleep, but not during his 'work hours.'
Which was why he too was already working out/training in the farthest corner of the park at dusk, still in costume, but he chose to go with his cape and hat for his training.
When Siegfried arrived at the place he'd decided on for practice, he frowned as he saw someone already there. 'A duck?' he mused with some surpise. But why not a duck? Siegfried's cook had been a bird of some sort when they'd first met.
"Guten Morgen, Herr Ente," Siegfried greeted amiably. He would try his hardest not to let Econtra's strangeness get to him more than it already had.
Darkwing jumped at the sudden voice, swirling around to face Siegfried. How could he have forgotten not to let his guard down?!
He quickly straightened up, trying to looks compose. He wasn't sure what the person said, but he hoped it was a greeting. Sounded German, he thought. "Good morning to you, citizen." He said in his most friendly hero voice.
By this point, Siegfried wasn't all that surprised that the duck could talk. He'd never before seen a duck decked out as a masked hero. It was an interesting sight to say the least. Siegfried could at least approve of the duck's color scheme.
"American, ja?" Siegfried asked, trying to place the accent. Although if ducks didn't have America, this one sounded as though it were from some equivalent.
"Ja," Siegfried answered. There was almost something comforting in the fact that places at least had similar names. "Although I suppose that we are both far from home here."
"I don't recall ever seeing a duck quite like yourself," Siegfried said. He studied the duck thoughtfully and then broke out into a grin. "You should introduce yourself to Herr Crawford. He might like to base a card on you."
"Ah, you've heard of it!" Siegfried didn't know whether the duck had the game in his own world or if he'd simply met other duelists. Either way, though, at least it was known of. "Herr Crawford is the game's creator."
"Yeah. Talked with some of the kids here from that world." Darkwing said. "So, he's the guy." He said, looking to be pondering this information. "Hm, well, how strong is the term monster for the actual creatures of the game?"
"Monster in the game is not always tooth and fang and bump in the night," Siegfried explained. "Monster is simply whatever is being used to attack or defend. A moment..."
Reaching into the inner pocket of his jacket, Siegfried took out his deck. No duelist ever went anywhere without his cards. In moments, Siegfried had rifled through to pull out his Valkyrie cards. He showed the beautiful warrior women to the duck. "These are the monsters I use."
"Hm, well, in that case, I wouldn't mind being made into a card at all!" Darkwing said, studying the cards and paused before he chuckled. "Heh, it doesn't even look like them." He said.
Darkwing pointed to three of the cards. "These three. Well, at least two. Not sure if Belldandy is Verdandi or not, but Skuld and Urd don't look like that." He said.
Siegfried looked from his goddess spell cards, to the duck, and back again. The goddesses were real!? Siegfried's determination to not let Econtra throw him for anymore loops began to slip.
"Ja, Belldandy is a version of Verdandi's name." In fact, with Siegfried's accent, the pronunciation of the two names was very nearly identical.
