Daemon didn't know it was this possible to feel so alone when the Arena was full of other people. Once he got found Takion on the ground knocked out, he got the old man to safety and secluded from the others. At first he left up Aural, Sight and Physical Black Shields. But they quickly exhausted him as the lightning somehow affected his ability to use the Black correctly, and he was forced to drop them ( ... )

If Saetan had been feeling any lingering romantic emotions from the previous night, they were not visible on his face. At the moment he was all business; it was easy to take him for just a harmless older man most times, but no one would have been able to now. At the moment it was suddenly easy to recall just how powerful he was, and truly how old. Looking at him now, it was impossible to see anything but the High Lord of Hell ( ... )

The first thing Takion was aware of was that his head hurt. It was the sort of pain that made him feel like the world would start spinning if he dared to open his eyes. It was easiest to lie still for now.

Familiar voices could be heard over Takion's head. He recognized Saetan's immediately, and that was enough to convince him to continue feigning unconsciousness. The other night had been rushed; two lonely people grasping for companionship. For all Takion knew, Saetan might be inclined to just leave things as a one night stand. Takion hoped otherwise, but the way things had been since coming to Econtra, he knew it wasn't prudent to get his hopes up.

Daemon stirred to life when another Black shield snapped over his own. He dropped his faltering one and looked over as his father, the High Lord of Hell, noticed where he was before heading towards him and the unconscious Takion. Daemon didn't say anything since he knew the man coming towards him was the High Lord of Hell and should be spoken to with protocol in mind, which at the moment he really didn't want to care about. It was also obvious Saetan knew that Daemon knew what was painfully obvious to any Warlord Prince with a Black Jewel in the area. He gripped the blade's handle tighter, as if readying it to stab someone if they came too close. Like how it was obvious from pyschic scents that Saetan and Takion were suddenly out of the blue having a relationship, it was just as obvious from pyschic scents that Daemon was on the verge of the killing edge ( ... )

Saetan looked up in surprise as the fierce looking blue woman arrived. The only person that color he knew of - by reputation only - was that Alema woman who seemed to be sleeping with half the members of the compound. He was caught off-guard by her appearance. Somehow he hadn't expected her to look so dangerous. At the moment, he had time to do nothing more than incline his head in greeting. Introductions could wait.

He knelt stiffly, ignoring the pointed glances Daemon was giving him as well as the pain in his bad leg. Black nailed fingers brushed lightly across Takion's brow, absently brushing a loose strand of hair out of his face as psychic tendrils probing his head for damage. Nothing permanent, then.

"I'm not a healer," He commented, sounding much calmer than he felt. "But it doesn't feel like there's any serious damage."

While Takion wasn't unconscious, he did most likely have a concussion. And so he had no problem with continuing to pretend to be out cold. He didn't want to move and risk an attack of nausea. But he'd almost opened his eyes at Saetan's light touch.

Once they had found out for sure that Takion was all right, he watched Saetan gently stroke Takion's brow and felt his heart freeze in bitter jealousy. Not because he had any feelings other than friendship with Takion, but because Li wasn't here, and when he had cared for Li... It ended in Li being in a coma ( ... )

Shit. Saetan sighed, feeling torn and glancing down at Takion one last time before standing stiffly and hurrying after his son. He had the feeling he and Daemon needed to work this out now, before it turned into something they never could work out.

"Watch him," He asked Alema quietly, almost desperately before going after Daemon.

Catching up with him after a few steps, he placed a hand on his shoulder to stop him. "Don't do this now, Namesake." He said quietly, adding, "Too many people here need you; Warlord Princes protect and serve. We have to put that before our feelings sometimes. Both of us. We can talk about this later, when things have settled down."

Well, it didn't sound like he was going to hear anything useful. Takion would have liked to have been certain about where he stood with Saetan. He listened to the receding footsteps with a sigh. Daemon must have realized somehow... And he'd lost so many that he loved. No doubt he wouldn't take to the realization that Takion had been with his father with any sort of joy.

Another hand rested itself on Takion's head, and the pain began to lessen a fraction. Takion risked cracking open his eyes to see his benefactor. He mouthed a "thank you" to the beautifully blue Alema.

Daemon kept walking until he felt the strong hand of his father grip his shoulder and plant him in place. Looks like he wasn't going to scuttle out of this one that easily. He stayed quiet, letting his father speak. What was spoken made him feel even more bitter... If only because he knew Saetan was right.

Especially since if anyone understood the misery of loss, it was Saetan. While Daemon had lost most of the family he had here, hadn't Saetan lost so much more? It wouldn't be fair to Saetan if Daemon tore his relationship with Takion apart. ...Now. He would talk to Saetan and Takion later, when everything calmed down. He couldn't help but remember when Saetan had plopped Li and himself down to talk about their relationship ( ... )

Saetan was not exactly surprised by the kiss, which he returned almost without thinking. Physical contact was just a part of who he was, and Daemon was the same way. This wasn't the first time this had happened, and he had never thought twice about it, no matter how strange others might find that ( ... )

It seemed that there was so much happening all at once. With his head hurting like it was, Takion didn't want to keep track of it. Daemon had gone off. Alema had left. Saetan had returned to his side.

It was that last which Takion decided to concentrate on for the moment. He smiled wanly up at Saetan, but his expression quickly sobered. "Daemon isn't happy, is he?" Understatement. "Saetan... If it comes down to a choice, choose him. I don't want to be responsible for breaking apart a family."
