yeah, sorry. i'm also being even worse about reading your guys' entries and that really deserves apologies. *hugs to all*
not too much going on here. work, work, work. i actually finished another chapter of my thesis last week, and it felt pretty good. i think i've finally reached the point of not caring...which is making it way easier for me to actually do the work. i'm still not all that good at sitting down to do it, but the process is easier. starting tomorrow, i'm cat / house sitting for my aunt. her condo is in Bothell, which is only half an hour away or so. i'll probably stay there most nights, just to keep the kitties company and make it easier to get to work in the mornings. there's at least one night, though, where i'll stay here. Sister has to head down to Mojave again for a couple of days for work, so Norm and i have to shuttle Baby Girl to and from day care. it's going to make for an interesting schedule for a couple of days and a lot of driving, but so it goes. i'm still glad to live close to family. : )
i haven't been reading all that much, which is kinda weird for me. in fact, there's only two books on my
2009 Book List right now...and i didn't even like one of them all that much. i did have a bit of a book buying spree last week, though. between the windfall cash and doing twelve hours of inventory, i kinda felt like i deserved one. also, four books that i've been waiting for were all released recently, so there was that justification as well. sadly, i haven't actually picked up a single one of them. bad me. i will get to them soon, though, and probably devour them quite quickly.
i've been watching TV on DVD again recently. just finished re-watching all four seasons of Due South, in fact. okay, you can take any meaning you like from this, but during the time i've been watching the show, i've also realized that i'm a bit lonely for romantic companionship. or something like that. or maybe for having more than one friend who lives in the area. not sure. i keep hearing these commercials for
this social club around here, and it sounds like fun. i think it's just partly i'd like to get out and do more stuff. mind you, i love doing stuff with the Family, but i think maybe i should do more stuff on my own too. of course, i won't really do anything like that until i have a "real" job and better finances. also, it would help to have a more regular schedule. the here, there, and everywhere nature of the schedule at work is still driving me crazy...and i still think it doesn't really have to be that way.
anyway, speaking of work and schedules, Baby Girl has a doctor appointment in the morning, so we're going to all have breakfast together for once before i head to work and the rest of the Family goes to the pediatrician. thus, i really need to go to bed...or at least go drink the cup of tea i want to have before i go to bed. i will try to write and read more often!
oh, before i forget, part of why i've been watching a lot of DVD's and not reading is because i've started a new knitting project. no, i haven't finished my pretty cabled hoodie yet, but this project is for a gift, and an overdue gift at that, so it must be done first. also, i'm teaching myself a weird combination of intarsia and stranded knitting for working in two colors, so i'm pretty excited about that. okay, tea now. : )
