well, haven't posted in a while. my laziness may be at an all time high. didn't do much over the weekend. hung out at home and read. maybe cleaned a little. probably watched TV. but mostly read. finished three new books and maybe a re-read. don't really remember. anyway, one of the books i finished was Still Life by Louise Penny. she_beast recommended it, and i really enjoyed it. a murder mystery set in rural Quebec, it had some fun little "hey! i actually know what they mean / where they're talking about!" moments. (probably why i really enjoy books set in the US SW, Montreal, and Seattle.) as an archer, i found the author's (or maybe just her characters') information about bows and arrows (the murder weapon!) pretty inaccurate, but it wasn't enough to spoil my enjoyment of the book. i'll have to snag the second in the series next time i go to the bookstore.

was good and did some work on Monday. all the comparisons between the predictions i got from the case-based reasoner and the actual simulation results are now done. i pretty much had to devise my own accuracy ranking system. i'm not so sure if i did it right...for example, i have no clue if my committee will agree with what i thought were reasonable range sizes...but it's done, so here's hoping. on Tuesday, i had a play day. got my hair cut (shorter in the back but letting the top grow out from spike length). then i went to the mall to continue my hoody hunt. i found lots of cute hoodies...but none (and i do mean none) of them were in my size. of course, that's probably 'cuz all the cute ones were at the 'teenager' stores like D-Tox and Amnesia. okay, i know Montreal is a skinny town, but jeez i know i'm not the only person who wears and XL and still likes cute hoodies. 'cuz, really, the hoodies i found that were in my size...not cute. i may be forced to order online. or just suffer with the lack of hoodies. anyway, i did not manage to get even one new hoody. i did, however, get a new pair of shoes. totally copied gretzilla and got a pair of Skecher Waterlily comfy / dressy shoes. she was totally right; they uber cute and comfortable. also, fishies! they're also more comfortable than my other pair of Skechers and easier to put on (high arch and instep). so i'm totally stoked! i was also bad and bought some DVD's at HMV. i could just no longer stand not having seen the third season of NCIS. i rented the first two seasons from Blockbuster, and i've been waiting and waiting for them to put the third season out to rent. no dice, so my patience finally broke and i gave in. bad me. apparently i'm having impulse control issues.

didn't do much on Wednesday...until late that is. or rather, early. wrote another 500 or so words some time early Thursday morning. finished off the section regarding the predictions done with the case-based reasoner. i'm actually almost done with the chapter. of course, i can't finish it until the 'engineered' set of simulations finishes, but still. anyway, did the writing and then settled in to read for a while since i was still a little to brain active to sleep. and then didn't go to sleep until much later Thursday morning...or was it afternoon by then? oops. thus, woke up really late Thursday. didn't make it to school or my walk in the arboretum. bad me. didn't manage to do any more work either. i suck muchly. i have limited time to get this chunk of paper done. gotta work on that motivation thing. anyway, have not yet gone to sleep but am contemplating it. hey, don't look at me like that. it's earlier than yesterday. of course, yesterday i'd written 500 by now. *thunks head on desk* can't decide whether to try for sleep and hope i don't sleep too long (alarms are of no use when there's nothing enforcing them) or to try and stay up. not sure which method would be more likely to me going to bed at a decent time...tonight. *thunks head on desk again* some day, i will have a schedule. and i will be able to stick to that schedule. 'cuz having to go to work is good at enforcing a schedule.
