so, i've been relatively industrious...for me. Monday night i managed to finish editing Marc's thesis, and showed up at our meeting Tuesday morning feeling all accomplished. (slightly zombie-like, but accomplished.) i felt even more special when i found that RK hadn't finished. weehee! go me! of course, Marc's gonna give me another copy this evening so i can edit the changes he's made. it never ends. but that's okay too. : )
i was a little bad yesterday and left school early to go downtown with J, Aleda, and Sarah. J and i were going to buy opera tickets, but then we discovered that only full season sets are on sale right now. to get only three shows, we have to wait until August (well, September since J won't be back until then). so we only made the other stops we were intending. J needed to go to Chapters so she could get a couple of audiobooks for her big long drive back to Kalamazoo. which meant i was in a bookstore. uh oh. we all know where this is heading. they're still having a buy three mass market paperbacks and get the fourth free sale, so i picked up some of the backlog books for which i've been looking. now i'm really not allowed to go to the bookstore for a while. Aleda bought a book too, though, so i wasn't the only one. Sarah wanted to go to HMV, so we stopped there. she and J both got stuff, but Aleda and i managed to show some self control. it was close, but we managed. they had the first volume of Full Metal Panic, but we were already intending to go to Metro Video, so i waited to see price comparisons. of course, Metro didn't have FMP at all. : P i almost went back to HMV, but i've decided to see if there's a box set first. so my only bad was the books.
there weren't any movies we wanted to see at the Paramount, so we decided to just have dinner. we ate at Reuban's so that we could have smoked meat...yummy. after that a minor miracle happened and i took every one home before ten o'clock. i picked up some of J's plants when i dropped off her and Sarah. she left this morning for Michigan then the French camp she's teaching at for the rest of the summer. so i'm baby sitting her papaya and grapefruit trees, her hibiscus plant, and one other while she's gone. they've been added to by garden for the summer, and i just hope that the wind out there doesn't do them damage. i watched some TV and finished knitting the body part of the cardigan i'm working on. now i just have to do the sleeves. and connect everything. yeah.
today, i have done much useful stuff. i checked on my simulations...still going good. then i settled in to do some chores i've been meaning to do for a while. i started my renewal FAFSA so i'll have money to live off of next year. i also filled out a consolidation application for my student loans. i'm not entirely sure if that was a good thing, but i think it was. i still get to keep my in-school deferment for three more years if i need to, so i won't have to start paying or anything. mostly, i just want everything to be in one place. hopefully, i won't regret it. this morning, i got a letter telling me that my Canadian bank has denied my application for a credit card (this to someone who has two platinum cards in the US), so i was finally able to make plane reservations for the conference in Edmonton this July. of course, this i've had to wait so long, the price of the flight totally sucks. it's actually more than the reimbursement that i'm hoping / going to get...which won't be deposited into an account that pays that credit card anyway. i hate banks some days. but it's done. so it goes. and all that.
anyway, that's it for now. i'll be good and go to the gym. then i'll finish my FAFSA and start editing Marc's thesis. a very exciting evening for yours truly. i'm gonna be so bored now that J has left. bleh.
