Obviously I have nothing better to do with my time than steal memes from no_mix_of_words's LJ and post them here. *shrug*
Rules: Once you’ve been tagged, you are supposed to write a note with 16 random things, facts, habits, or goals about you. At the end, choose 16 people to be tagged. If I tagged you, it’s because I want to know more about you.
1. I *do* know how to use cruise control and do so frequently...but I've never learned to drive a stick shift. It's sort of a matter of opportunity and laziness...I never really had anyone teach me, and never really set aside time to learn. It's gonna bite me in the ass one day.
2. Several of you already know this, but here it is: I'm obsessed with office supplies. Post-it notes, pens, paper clips, anything. Especially if it's new or in a fun color, I'll buy it.
3. If chocolate ceased to exist from the face of the planet, I might not be able to live anymore. Seriously. I've spent a lot of time thinking about this.
4. Also not totally unknown: I have a tattoo of an Elanor flower on my shoulder. Less known: Elanor is my middle name, and it's taken from Lord of the Rings. Maybe even lesser known: My mother drew the flower, and I had it copied and inked--it was the first tattoo I ever got, and still my favorite.
5. One of my goals in life is to learn to say 'thank you' in as many languages as my brain can possible remember.
6. The smell of original Dial liquid soap is one of my favorite scents in the entire world. My great-grandmother had it in her bathroom when I was growing up, and I think it brings back good memories. My mom also has it in her kitchen and bathroom.
7. As snobby as it sounds, I put a lot of weight on whether or not people like certain movies. If I meet someone who hated Labyrinth, Legend, or the Princess Bride, I'm pretty much not going to spend more than 5 minutes talking to them.
8. My favorite kind of Christmas music is the really really old, religious choral music--like Ave Maria, Greensleaves (Greensleeves?), Adam Lay Ybounden. I cannot stand listening to most modern Christmas songs.
9. I also cannot stand the feeling of things in between my toes, or my feet being touched in general. I had a pedicure once (for my wedding), and although my toes looked very pretty, it was pure torture.
10. I cannot play a single musical instrument, but I can make a great loud trumpeting sound from a conch shell ;-)
11. I collect snowglobes. Any time someone goes on a vacation/trip, and asks me if they can bring anything back from there, I tell them I want a snowglobe. Sometimes this results in a sandglobe, if they go somewhere like Arizona. That's just as good, of course! I think I currently have 8. I used to have 9, but one broke.
12. I have made 4 full-fledged, multi-tiered, buttercream-coated and decorated wedding cakes in my life, not including any I made while majoring in pastry arts.
13. My dream job is to either be a travel writer or a short-story author.
14. After much careful studying, I have concluded that if I wait long enough, I will get whatever I want, as long as I *really* want it. This has not yet been proven false.
15. The list of foods that I don't like is probably longer than the list of foods that I do like. I'm extraordinarily picky, but I always appreciate it when I found out someone else is as picky as I am. It ain't easy.
16. I have been nicknamed Mitten, Tigger, and Kiwi at some point in my life. There is at least one person (per nickname) that still calls me that nickname.
