I intentionally left 10 minutes late so that I would not be the first guest to arrive.

I was the first guest to arrive.
I was greeted by the family pet, a grandmother, a grandfather, the mother, and the host (in that order.) When I introduced myself to the mother, she said in a thoughtful, finally-I-meet-you tone, "oooh you're Yi Yu!" I still don't know why it was the case. At least it wasn't a bad "oooh."
A first comment to the host: "You lied. I do have to drive past cows to get to your house."
It's 12:40 and I'm tired. But the last hours of this past day were not ill-spent.
