2-3, HR, 3B, 3 runs, 3 rbi
2006 fall softball season began tonight. i had my own cheering section in Shannon and The Bug. after over 2 months of rust, my first at bat featured a tapper back to the pitcher on the first pitch. there was a force out at second, and i was safe at first base. i ended coming around to score.
my next at bat was a gapper to right center field. as i trucked around second, i got the sign from Lane, our third base coach to keep going. i don't get too many inside the park home runs, but i had one tonight. i think i'd lose to Jason Giambi in a foot race. it's a good thing Shannon thought to bring some bottled water. i was dying.
my third and final at bat was a bomb headed for the 260 foot sign in the right field corner. thankfully Lane held me up at third with a triple. we won the game 18-9. i played the entire game at first base. it was a good night back on the diamond.
