i fell asleep tonight about 9:30. i was awakened to find myself alone in bed during a serious thunderstorm, with rain that is flooding areas of our backyard. it's nearing the end of monsoon season. i instantly thought i had been asleep for hours and was shocked to learn when i checked my bedside clock that it was barely 11:30

they're great when you have someone to snuggle with in bed. unfortunately the dogs are terrified during storms, so Shannon was out on the couch to try to keep them calm. i couldn't stay out there with her as i wouldn't have gotten any sleep with them moving around and whining. no romance in that scene.

The thunderstorms in MN are spectacular too and the power hasn't gone out once either. The satellite always goes out, but dish sucks anyway (that's another story).

the satellite going out was the reason i went to bed early in the first place. i'm never in bed that early, but i decided to take advantage of no tv for once, and try to catch up on some sleep. useless idea!

yes, dish sucks. i miss cable.
