I've spent my afternoon so far in the local Panera, poking at my WIP (258 words so far according to an online word counter) and pretty much "playing" on the internet.
*cue annoyed face* Yep, this is the "writing" (or lack thereof) that I remember. *sigh*
One of the more interesting sites I've been looking at is
JA Konrath's blog about self-publishing, a subject I hadn't had any respect for (no offense intended to those who do it) until very recently. I'll be honest, I've read some horrible e-books out there which turned me off to it as a publishing alternative but.... well, it seems to be viable. In fact, it seems to be downright lucrative if you're one of the lucky few for whom it takes off.
Wow. Who'd've thunk it, right?
Anyway.
Back to the story. I want to at least get through the first bullet in my synopsis (very vague, all-encompassing beginning, but at least it's mostly action) by the end of today and I've been set free to do so. (as in, Dude is taking care of chores for the day; I loves my Dude) After reading
a very to-the-point post about rough drafts from
queenoftheskies, I need to remember that for my own writing. Alas, SO much easier said than done...
