You know, I never really understood the big deal about podcasts, and I was kind of confused about how they called them podcasts, but most people listened to them on their computers and not their pods, etc. I've slowly been converting into a believer over the last couple weeks, ever since I downloaded everything npr and kexp have to offer for my road trip to Couer d'Alene, but the clincher was yesterday when I was out walking with Sophie, listening to a several week old episode of All Books Considered. They were interviewing Beverly Cleary for for 90th birthday, and I almost started crying three or four times listening to her talk about her characters, how they were born, and what she believes reading means to young people. If a podcast can bring me Ramona on a Thursday afternoon, then I am all for them.
This weekend is girls brunch tomorrow and Mother's Day Sunday. I wish I could be sure that my grandmother would be excited to go to the cheese festival on Sunday, but I'm pretty afraid that my Sunday is going to be a little less delicious cheese festival, a lot more awful Wal-mart.
