So I went and did it...

I finally signed up for MLB.tv Premium, since it was offered for $29.95.  For two months of baseball goodness, that's not bad, I'd say.  It sure beats watching just 4 more live games for the rest of the regular season.  And I can keep tabs on all my favorite players 'round the big leagues, whether it be Prince Albert or Manny or whoever else.

So about Manny, I'm slowly coming to terms with this.  He looks okay in blue, I suppose, although I hate that he's gonna cut off those awesome dreads.  And Jason Bay did so well in last night's game that it's hard not to be enthusiastic about the possibilities!  I'm still nostalgic, though, and am grieving a bit, yes, although I never did have that good cry...I just sort of...eased into it with resignation, I guess. It helped that I was so utterly exhausted at week's end (due to not sleeping well for several nights running, in addition to everything that was going on with the trade deadline) that I didn't even have the energy left to cry about it. I was so numb, so zombified, that I didn't even have any emotional reaction to a chunk of time goofing on the phone with Andre', who called me last night during the game. Usually talking to him is a huge upper, as he's Mr. Positive Energy in addition to everything else, but when we finally signed off I just turned the volume back up on Gameday and went on following the game without giving the phone call any thought. When I finally went to bed, I slept the sleep of the dead for 9 hours...without even having to take the "calm down" med that I normally take when I awaken in the early morning on a weekend. I did wake up but fell right back to sleep, and now I actually feel refreshed for the first time in a whole week.  Thankfully so.

I must admit to feeling guilty that I haven't gotten shit done today. I eased into the day so slowly that I didn't get around to eating solid food until about 4:00.  I'm about to get started on a massive pile of dishes, interspersed with some paperwork and such, and then it'll be game time and I can actually SEE it for a change.  YAY!

Tomorrow I have to really buckle down with chores and outside errands.  It's haircut time, for one thing, and as I'll be at the mall I'm gonna buy some sorely needed new work pants.  I have a nice slinky pair that I wear, but my "dress down" pants rather resemble Manny's former uniform and make me look like an aging hip-hop wannabe.  Unfortunately, the haircut is at 1:00 and it's hard for me to find pants that fit correctly, so by the time I get back I'll probably have missed most of tomorrow's game, but I suppose I can do that once in awhile now that I have the chance to watch 'em all.

So that's the report from "Sox Nation Western NC."  See you all at the game, and GO SOX!  :D
P.S. Just did a little browsing of recent Red Sox pics on daylife.com.  Y'all were right over on CF last night...Jason Bay and Jed look enough alike to be brothers.  That's pretty eerie.  Guess it was truly meant to be!
