So, the renter contacted me by phone last night and launched a fairly hardball negotiation about the house. Bleh. I am not a haggler by choice. I'm not even very clear on how serious she is about the place, and I don't want to waste a lot of effort and stress. I really hate this part.

Last week, we retired the planer. All the boards for this project have now been planed. It's boxed up now and will either stay in the garage or go into storage, depending on how the fate of the house works out. We've spent almost the entire weekend woodworking. It's been great. I sort of thought we'd have one assembled bookcase to show for it, but honest objective analysis forced us to concede that it was far more time effective to linearize the whole process.
