So I thought the silver lining was showing up. Turns out is was a gas pocket waiting to explode. I was approved for unemployment around the beginning of this month. I got 3 checks and then a letter stating that my employer was still contesting my claim so I'm denied again because I "voluntarily resigned". Here's the deal... I was in the middle of quite the little breakdown. My employer said I was to return by 11-21 because that was the end of my FMLA. My doc wouldn't release me until 11-28 (with restrictions) and 12-5 without. When I called the benefits manager at the casino she said "I'm sorry, my hands are tied" so I called my boss who didn't answer so I called the Pit and spoke with another boss who said he was sorry and he'd pass the message along to the big boss. I don't see how they can legally call that voluntarily resigning. I couldn't go back without a doc release, the doc woudn't release me, so they more or less terminated me. Hmm.... So I'm in appeals again and desperately searching for a job. I'm not having any luck, which I don't expect to in the shit hole economy or the week before Christmas....arrrrgh.
