Okay, I probably should have journal'd these when they happened, but I forgot >_< Ah well XD
Weekend of March 20th/21st
Okay, Chicago was really fun! Actually, I brought idiocy to new levels XD Probably. Anywho, that Saturday had been a little bit stressful by the end due to work ;_; but what can you do? Anywho, I was little frazzled (okay, so the truth is I always am a bit frazzled when it comes to travel) and the train came in and my friend I was visiting texted me that he was there and so I'm going in pretty much every direction except the one I'm suppose to go in. Ahhh, fun. I eventually found him, so it was all good. Anywho, we went out for Pho! Delicious (just don't take a big sip of it while it's hot...I burned my tongue! But it was still delicious). Oh, and Chinese Cilantro - oh yeah, just as good as regular cilantro. I kind of like the shape better too ^_^. So yeah, Pho = yummy. Then we played Rock Band! Rock Band is a little different than Guitar Hero, it's pretty fun though. I never did get around to trying out the drumming, but that's okay ^_^ He got me to sing though, I think it was easier for me because it wasn't a huge group. Though, it's one of those things that now that I've done it and didn't do horribly, I wouldn't mind doing it with a slightly larger group. We'll see what the future brings...I might even sing at Karaoke! Anywho, then slept. Then woke up and went with him to Millennium Park for the Shamrock Shuffle. He ran (and got an awesome time), and I got to see the Shamrock Shuffle. It was rather interesting and fun to watch the different people who were being silly (i.e. dying their hair green, wearing costumes, etc.). I was a little bit disappointed because I missed him in the crowd :-/ Oh well, maybe next time ^_^. Then after that, we went out for Dim Sum with some ol' college friends (I hope I spelled that right), which was delicious, it's like a little bit of everything. Eh, it's kind of weird saying ol' college friends on soooo many levels. Anywho. Then we walked around China Town. I think I might have been a little too tired at that point though, so I probably wasn't any fun :-/ But I did enjoy myself! It was a great weekend! Took the train back home and pretty much passed out in bed ^_^
Week of March 21st
Oh my! I am one crazy chick. I did a superhero program at work. For some reason, I thought it would be completely awesome to wear a cape too, so I fashioned myself a quasi-costume... well, really, it was a cape made from a bed sheet XD I think my coworkers thought I was the highlight of the evening and the kids thought I was a little bit weird XD But oh well. I did enjoy myself. It was kind of crazy. Work is a little crazy right now anyways since we're moving around. That's pretty much all that happened to me this week.
Weekend March 27/28
Okay, went to Alsip and got PLANTS! YAY! Oh man, it's March and I'm already like "container gardening! container gardening!" I'm so excited for this year. I bought a grape vine and raspberry canes. I probably won't get fruit until next year, but I'm kind of excited to see if I can do it!! I'm also trying a bunch of different vegetables this year. Last year I pretty much did Lettuce and Tomatoes. This year, I've got some broccoli out already, and I've started seedlings for tomatoes. I planted some sugar snap peas (I hope they grow well!!) I'm also going to do Carrots, Green Onions, Radishes, and I bought the seeds for Beets, Cucumbers, and Green Peppers, but I don't know if I'll actually get around to planting them. I hope I do...I just need to get some more containers and it needs to be April!... Well.... now April-er! I spent Sunday planting them. Cross your fingers that it doesn't frost a lot between now and May!
Current
Still crazy at work (moving stuff around). But I don't really want to think about that at home. I unless it's good news, I'll probably be avoiding much work stuff. Anywho, I bought a resistance band, so I'm going to try that workout soon...I was going to try it on Wednesday, but I only had enough time to watch the DVD (I like to watch the DVD through before actually doing anything). Hopefully I'll get to try it out soon!
Anywho, my sister was invited to a Birthday Party for one of her friends, and the first part was up in Chicago. So, I went along too. It was kind of crazy waking up at 7am (yeouch for me!) on a weekday. But we took the train up and then walked around Millennium Park a bit. Then we had lunch at McDonalds. I haven't had McDonalds in awhile...it's been Burger King if I go to a Burger place. It was kind of weird seeing their menu *shrugs* who knows why. Then we went to the Art Institute and saw some of their exhibits. There were a lot of interesting things there, I wish I had more time (less kids) to look around more. With kids, they look and are pretty much ready to move onto the next thing. I'd like time to read the cards, there were a lot of interesting information. It's kind of weird because even 2 weeks ago, I was all of the mentality "Art Museum....meh, I guess it's okay" and now I'm like "gee, I need to figure out a day I can go solo for awhile". I might have to rope somebody into going with me though, I do get nervous by myself (Even if I feel pretty awesome when I do end up going somewhere solo). Anywho, after that, we walked to the lego store (in Nordstroms). I wasn't terribly impressed with the Lego Store. Then again, I never was a lego-a-holic. But the kids seemed to enjoy themselves. Plus, at that point, I'm pretty sure I was dehydrated. I can't tell you how happy I was I put sunscreen on this morning. So then we walked to Walgreens and got water/beverages. Then we walked to Millennium Station and caught the train. Mattie was like 20-30 mins late for her Ortho appointment, so I had to go with, which made me 30 min late for work x_x. So I didn't have time to change or freshen up, or eat a little something, so I was kind of frazzled at work today :-/ Oh well. Now I'm home, fed, tired beyond belief, but typing this up because I can still taste my dinner a little to much to actually sleep (I know, I'm weird).
Happy April!
