Me: *Gives her a look*
Mom: That. Yeah, I am.
Me: You don't want to, do you?
Mom: No, I don't want to. You're my baby.
Me: I know.

*Five minutes later*
Mom: Okay, your dad says it's fine so long as you only go on dates during the daylight hours, in public places, and he has to come meet us first.
Me: ...okay.
Mom: Okay.
Me: It's weird, though, him coming to meet y'all.
Mom: All of my boyfriends had to do it.
Me: Yeah, but you started dating when you were fifteen. You had a two year head start on me.
Mom: Keep in mind that I originally said no boyfriends and only group dates until you graduated, so this is me being incredibly lenient.
Me: Thank you.
So...glad that's over with. But it was kind of awkward. And that whole daylight hours rule would make so much more sense if I wasn't at the theatre with Casey until all hours of the night anyway, but okay. I can see where they're coming from.
