A few conversational exchanges in recent weeks have stuck with me, so I thought I'd share.
From the Death Tea party:
Mark: What kinds of tea do you have?
Me: The English Breakfast and Russian Caravan are ready, and the Jasmine and Earl Grey are brewing.
Mark: Awesome!
Me: I'll brew up some Assam in the next batch, if you like...
From the May 2010 Lonsdale & Brooks show:
Me: (in a stentorial voice) This is the 'down' set. All the songs in it are down. (in a cheerful voice) Next, we'll have the 'up' set, where all the songs-
caprine: -are upset!
Me: ...
Also from that show:
caprine: I though it would be appropriate to follow up "Black Train" with "A Hundred Shades of Black".
Me: And then we need to do The Rolling Stones' "Paint it Black", and then something from Black on Black...
caprine: And then "Blue on Black". Then Sisters of Mercy's "Fear of a Black Planet"...
Audience member: "Babies in Black"
Other audience member: And something by Jack Black!
caprine: And then I can sing my old song "Jack In the Black".
Third audience member: And then for an encore, you'll do a Black Flag song.
Anyone say anything funny around you recently?
