Summer 2006: Part I

So....
It has been a while since I last posted. I've been pretty busy with my internship and working for Res Life and visiting people on the weekends, plus I haven't exactly had a great internet connection until now so I figured it was time to update!

Well I finished my internship this morning. Interning at the Kalamazoo Valley Museum was such a good experience for me and it has given me a lot to think about in terms of a possible career path. It got to attend meetings and workshops, do research at K's library and at the Kalamazoo Gazette, work with various professionals in the field, act in a movie for a website affiliated with the museum, and volunteer doing crafts with kids every week! It was a great learning experience and often a lot of fun!

So now that that is over, I have been doing some work for Res Life and on Saturday, I get to go home and work for the Ecology Center. Then, at the end of the month, I am going to visit my aunt in California with my lil sis and then, when I get back I will turn 21! Yay!

I am leaving for London on the 22nd of September so that gives me plenty of time to pack and possibly come back to K to visit Ryan and Chrissy and crash some RA training!

So those are my plans for the rest of the summer, so now I can talk about all the fun I had last weekend with Eliz and Lauren! Eliz picked me up and we went up to see Lauren for her big birthday bash and it rocked not only because I got to see Lauren again and go to Canada again, but also because I got to see Eliz and spend some major quality time with her. I didn't realize how much I missed her and I much I love seeing her everyday until I got to spend a whole weekend with her. So now I just miss everyone from K and I wish we could all just spend like a week together hanging out before we all have to disperse. I also had like a 2 1/2 hour conversation with Ryan the other night and that made me miss him a lot too! I love catching up with people on the phone but it just isn't the same as hanging out in person!

Anyway, now that I am done harping on how much I miss everyone from K, I should also say how much I love my friends from high school and how excited I am to see them when I go home! I get to spend at least a little time with them before they all head back to school/abroad.

I am excited to go home to my air conditioned house to spend time with my family and especially my sister, I missed her so much this summer! But I think the first part of my summer went pretty well and now I can enjoy some time at home with the people I care about there. =)
