I have written 3:10 to Yuma slash. I don't know, kids. Speaking of westerns, my dad and I watched The Assassination of Jesse James… and were rather mystified that it was nominated for anything other than a Razzie. It was the longest… movie… ever. Not to mention that every character seemed completely one dimensional. Whatever.
This morning, my mom and I went to Best Buy where I intended to buy a $40 battery-life extender for my iPod but somehow ended up buying over $200 worth of merchandise, which thankfully includes the one item I went there to get. I couldn't pass up a Bluetooth headset for my iPod even though I think that people who use them with the cell phones look like the Borg. They're just regular headphones, but I won't be chained to a cord, which is nice. I guess the signal works up to 33 feet, so I can get coffee at work without hitting pause. I wonder if I can get away with wearing them to meetings on our floor. Probably not, eh?
On the work front, it's been insane. The IT guys keep on sending me notices about my laptop but they never say when I'll actually get it, which is frustrating. This week, I worked twelve hours a day, which was exhausting. But this coming week, I will be out of the office for three days for SAS training. It's eight hours a day, which kind of sucks, but I'm looking forward to it. Although I haven't taken a course in which you actually have to pay attention to the instructor in ages. The last course I took at Albany was a seminar, which means that you had to read some boring books and argue about them and that was in 2004. I think the last time I took an actual lecture was probably my first year of grad school so 2002. We'll see how this goes.
I also saw Dr. M today and he thinks I'm doing awesome. In a few days, it will be two years since my suicide attempt. It's kind of hard to believe sometimes. We actually didn't talk much about mental health stuff; instead we had a nice long conversation about social movements and economics and that kind of thing. Very cool.
Time to go play Bioshock. I'm on the fifth level now. Tres awesome.
