Vinni is extremely intelligent. He recognizes patterns in human behavior. He knows the names of all his toys. He can imitate sounds. When we go to the store and buy him food or a toy or treats, he knows which bag to find them in. He also likes to hide things and he remembers where he put them. For instance, a week ago, I gave him a milk bone as a treat. He took it off somewhere and I figured that he ate it. Apparently not. Apparently, he hid it under the stove, but then couldn't get to it anymore. I discovered this when he kept on barking just once at the stove and pawing at the ground. This is his way of saying, hey, there's something I can't reach! When I got on the floor, I couldn't see what he was talking about, so I was like, I can't see anything! He barked at me and pawed at my hair. Although Vinni can say three phrases (out, love you, and I want), those don't really help much with a situation like this. Eventually, I figured out how to pull out the bottom of the stove and discovered that he was not only storing treats under there, but kibble too. I ended up having to vacuum up all the kibble while he stole the treat and took off. I can only hope he hid it somewhere more accessible.
I love him so much, but I have a feeling that he's going to drive me nuts this week.
