We celebrated my birthday yesterday since my parents won't be here on the actual day. Most of the day was spent watching college football and helping my parents get ready for their trip. For dinner, we went to PF Chang's where we sat on the heated patio. It was really nice. I ordered tons of extra spicy food. The waiter even made me a special super-hot dipping sauce. Well, and he made me a special apple martini too. He was flirting with me throughout dinner, actually. My basic reaction to it was, umm, why? But I did kind of flirt back. I'm not very good at that kind of thing because I have self-esteem issues most days and I really don't think I'm all that attractive. So.
After dinner, we came home and had cake and presents. Vinni is goddamn hilarious when it comes to these kinds of things. He even tries to sing along and blow out the candles. My mom took pictures of all of this, but I didn't have time to download them before she took off to Seattle. Here are some I took with my cell though:
This is Vinni standing on top of my dad's suitcase. He doesn't like suitcases (or shoes) because he thinks they take people away.
These are what my parents got me. I anticipate watching them all this week.
Tom and Jill sent me this. It's a string doll. Actually, it's all made from one continuous length of string. His name is Sid and he protects me from people with bad taste in music. Like my dad, haha.
This is the coolest present I've ever gotten. It's a packet of postcards of Chicago sent to someone in North Dakota in 1931. Tom and Jill found it in an antique shop in Seattle and they had to buy it for me since I collect this kind of thing. Love it.
So my parents are gone now. I had to get up at like dawn to take them to the airport. Now I am cleaning and relaxing and such. It's nice to not have an agenda.
