lately, all has been a blur of either work-for-hire (quite literally, some flyers i do for shows are for bands i will never see, even hear) or are a literal blur, vision and all, spinning from intoxication. lately there has been a lot of goofy fun, but zeroing in on that declaration, i note that everyone around me has been having goofy fun. a certain case-in-point was the infamous valentine's day night, involving a half-breed pup, being handcuffed by some cop, a loaded shotgun, a perverse hiphop show, and none of that in order.
i will not become a dad anytime soon, but if i do in 15 years, my kids will hear none of these stories from me.
flyer-wise, rather than show a cardstock finished result, here's one scanned from the original piece i stitched together---literally, as you can see the dozens of pieces i rubber cemented together. i'm not sure how i feel about it yet.
lately i've been listening to stick men with ray guns (whose cd i found in a cheap used bin), whitehouse (which is no surprise, but i got back my copy of "total sex" from angelica, after a nice coffee chat with her, and she seems to be doing well, but anyway....it's nice to listen to this album again), silver apples, and as a side note, "supermale" by psychic tv is lodged in my head the way a shitty animal collective track lodges in the head of a braindead hipster.
been reading. finally got to digging deeper into the subject of cybernetics, although the book i'm scanning focuses on the mathematics of it---"signs" that can be predicted to fill a numerical chart, rather than decode linguistic permutations. then again, i'm not finished with it. at the same time, i found a book of rimbaud's poems (never read the chap) and some stuff by that old standby, lovecraft.
and finally....even more, super-secret projects have begun. yes indeedy.
