super rookie

The bathroom in our hall is SO HOT. I mean REALLY hot. It's kinda nice for the first two minutes after you get out of the shower, because the entire room is basically one big blow dryer, but after that it actually makes you feel ill. I hope I never get sick when I'm in this hall. And if I do get sick, I hope I can make it to some other bathroom.

We're watching this tv series for Korean, and it's actually surprisingly good. It's called "Super Rookie", hence the title of this entry...and it's cute and easy to watch, even with the cheesy music montages and super obvious flashbacks. The characters are really likable, even the sorta bad ones. But my problem is that I've been watching more of them than necessary (I'm about 6 episodes ahead at this point) because I'm trying to get to a point where SOMETHING HAPPENS. It's a love story and a story of this loser guy's lucky success at a big corporation. So every episode they just go around almost firing him, and then the couples ALMOST talk about their problems, and they ALMOST start to have something good happen in somebody's life. So many almosts. They are ridiculous how much they NEVER talk. I mean, I'm obviously not the poster child for getting feelings out in the open, having secret crushes for years and such, but GEEZ. There are about 10 times per episode when something will happen that pulls people apart, but really all they'd need to do to fix it would be to say "oh that's not what i meant" or "oops I'm sorry" or sometimes even just "hi". But they instead just sit there staring at each other letting the gap between them grow wider, and then some terrible sappy love song plays, and this one poor girl ends up crying. She's been crying for months. Seriously. So much staring at each other.

Also, they don't have any friends. They have such big hangups about old boyfriends and who's chasing which girl that they are incapacitated enough to not be able to have friends. It's annoying. Having no friends and only having a boyfriend to hang on to is such a bad idea. One guy does have some friends, but he just keeps getting in trouble for trying to be friends with other people's girlfriends and such. Goodness.

Let's just muse on these friendships a little more, shall we? :)
