So right now my luck is shit. I turned down my job offer from Kyushu because I don't have the money to move, and they need a teacher ASAP. My interview in Nagoya fell through because there was a one week period they didn't hear from me and assumed I'd passed.
We were told we would be paid today, but there is still no money in my account. It is entirely feasible we will never get paid. In which case I need a job now. We have no idea if our rent has been paid or if the school's rent is paid. They even closed Nova's biggest school in Tokyo. Out here we"re removed from all the protests and walk-outs, and we are still running (but not paid). My school is down to 4 teachers including me, and we have another school nearby that shut down because their 3 teachers quit. It's a shitstorm here.
In happier news, I have a job interview on Monday in a nearby city for a job that would have me teaching kids and staying in the area. I have to say that Fukuyama has grown on me. I found a great store to buy used CDs at today, and I keep making new Japanese friends and picking up private students. It's turned into a fight to find a job, and I just figured out I don't want to move.
Send me good vibes. I'll be needing them.
