i am now a (once again) resident of my childhood home. i spent all day yesterday unpacking the remnants of my previous room and putting together a near replica in my old/new room. meta?!
this is not the most terrible situation i had imagined. in fact, we have not reached the seventh layer of hell.
some good things:
we have a farmer's market twice a week in the summertime months.
this house has a big backyard and great, sunny deck.
as well as a huge bathtub perfect for long soaking evenings with a book.
tv? (can't decide if this is good or bad, i have been generally avoiding so far.)
great big library three blocks from my house.
i haven't found a job yet but suburbia is a great place for running in the mornings when all the suits are on their way into the city for work. my neighbourhood is nice and full of older people who ask a lot of questions and let me pet their dogs! let's stay positive!
basically i have already come up with one hundred reasons i need to leave for a night or two. a short jaunt to lindsay to help ry search for apartments? i'm so there! a quick trip back to waterloo to tie up any loose ends? can do! art shows in the city? i must attend! daytrips, lunch dates, kensington market, cheese shops? all of the above, please.
and as a i await my letters of rejection/acceptance i have narrowed my dream job for the summer down to the following: waitress, barista or dog walker. currently i occupy the position of unemployed university graduate living off income tax return ... but this is the season of chaaaaaange!
