Two things that I really like right now:
http://noteatingoutinny.com/http://www.101cookbooks.com Love reading food blogs, a fascination which gets worse during the summers with a wealth of fresh produce. I so so so look forward to a (nearby) day when Ryan and I are finally on our own, cooking together nightly. Last weekend he made me the most incredible filet minion with caramelized onions and a balsamic reduction with the yummiest grilled zuchinni on the side. GAH. How lucky to have a beautiful boy who is also a beautiful cook!
Saw my girlfriend last night and drank lots & lots of pitchers of light, summery beer. Wonderful, frizzy, raining nights out come with a clarity about how good everything is. We are not completely grown yet, but just enough to laugh at our former selves while appreciating all of the hardships (real and self-constructed) that we overcame and the one summer when we rode our bikes together, had picnics and gelato (almost daily), and I fell in love with her braiding my hair. I could not and would not survive without such unique and wonderful girlfriends.I'm so happy that we are both loved by men who are good good good and make us feel like ourselves in such a pleasant way.
Today was so rainy and I wanted to have sprinkle dougnuts and tea for breakfast and watch bad reality tv until my brain rotted straight from my head but I settled for tomato and cheese toast, coffee, and good books in bed. Finished Laila Halaby's Once in a Promised Land which was required reading for my Asian American Narratives course but I only just now picked up and started Cormac McCarthy's The Road which is good but so descriptive and I am craving something very plot & character driven to escape inside of. Recommendations?
