I haven't but writing but rather enjoying the process of sitting back and enjoying.
I've been offered a seven-month contract at the Literacy Council and haven't decided if I should take it. I should be grateful for a (short-term) paycheque but I am uncertain if I should plant my feet here for seven more months. But I love my job even though it is frustrating and challenging and it is something like a luxury to be able to work in the non-profit sector, with (usually) dedicated volunteers and to create new relationships and see something being made. Every day I am surrounded by people who are trying to build a new community and positive spaces and I'm learning learning learning.
I have applied for some positions in publishing, literacy organizations in Toronto, and local non-profits but have three weeks to decide if I will stay or go. I'm considering taking some MA courses part-time. Rumour has it that two MA's are the new PhD.
This my favourite photo from graduation, taken by my lovely friend Katie's husband. It captures the excitement of the moment so perfectly and screams elated. We are smiling little possibilities.
