Hey there NYC-area poor_skills-ers.
I desperately want to see Equus. Desperately. Wildly. I also do not want to pay over $100 for a decent ticket. Clearly, this is a problem. I'd be more than happy to stand in line at TKTS, except that I go to school in Chicago, and if I see the play it would more or less have to be on a specific date. I suppose I could go stand in line every day over Christmas break, but that borders on the insane - although I might try it, if push comes to shove.
Suggestions on how to get cheap tickets in advance, or cheap tickets day-of such that I could plan to see the show and be relatively certain of that happening? There isn't a discount I can find online, and I can't tell whether or not they do a student rush (doubtful, I think). I'd be willing to try pretty much anything to see this show for under $100, so any suggestions you have would be appreciated.
Disclaimer: No, spending close $100 on a theatre ticket is not a poor skill. However, figuring out how to have a once-in-a-lifetime entertainment experience without breaking one's bank definitely is. I recognize this, and that I'm lucky to be able to make this choice, etc etc. Once I'm out of college and in the real world I won't be able to do stuff like this, so I'm trying to make the most of it while I still can.
