Honk if you're horny

So much to say, so much to say, so much to say, so much to say. Here's a roundup of what's been happening with me lately:

1. Got a new car! It's a 2005 Toyota RAV4. Yes, the girliest SUV on the planet. But I don't care - I love it! It's peppy and cute and relatively fuel-efficient and it's shiny and it smells good. Plus it's got all these neat features that I haven't quite gotten the hang of yet, such as a CD player and automatic locks and, you know, all-wheel drive.

2. After reading some of my past entries and emails, I've decided to try to avoid using emoticons in my LJ entries from now on. Yup, I'm going cold turkey, because, seriously, it's really gotten out of hand. For now, this experiment in self-censorship will apply to LJ only - I don't think I'm prepared to drop the habit altogether. Baby steps, right? (And, as you may have already guessed, there will likely be a significant increase in the amount of italics and parentheticals in my posts.)

3. After reading #2 above, I've realized that I'm too damned wordy for my own good. Why use 2 words when 8 will do? God, shut up, EB.

4. I'm going through a weird angry self-loathing phase. In a nutshell: Jersey sucks, and so do I, and it's all my mom's fault.

5. Can't wait for Chaos & Creation in the Backyard. I've listened to snippets of 5 or 6 tracks so far, and they're pretty awesome. Choose Love was surprisingly good as well. It's so awesome to see the 2 remaining Fabs still putting out quality work after all these years.

6. I've said it before, but it bears repeating - Audible.com ROCKS MY SOCKS! They've just added the "Opie & Anthony" show to their lineup, much to my delight. I was a big O&A fan back in their WNEW days, but they went off the air soon after I moved to Florida. I'd heard they'd gotten a deal with XM, but I'd forgotten about it until they popped up on Audible a few weeks ago. And now I'm hooked once again. O&A Party Rock!

7. I received a "pyramid scheme" letter in the mail a few days ago. I can't believe those things still exist, especially in snail mail form. Geez.

8. My niece is getting baptised this weekend, and yesterday I actually found myself wondering, "Why do all the baptism cards have to be all about Jesus and blessings and holiness and stuff? Can't they sell any non-religious baptism cards?" Which pretty much sums up my feelings about religion at present.

P.S. I haven't been following my friends' LJs much lately, so I'm sorry about that. Good luck to those who are heading back to school, and I hope everyone and their families down south remained safe during the hurricane.
