spawn of the dead

Apr 09, 2008 21:10

nothing about death in here i think, was just feeling momentarily dramatic and enjoying playing with words/phrases/references[0]. is more about life...

last week my saunter to the pond rewarded me with a clump of frogspawn - just sat there in the relative shallows of the pond here, nestling among irses. there was some movement in the pond also... and i didn't see the mover[1], but my sense of the movement suggested newt rather than frog. it was a sunny day, so that would also make sense. the frogspawn is still spawn[2] this week - i doubt that (if there are to be any tadpoles, etc) i'll see any changes before i away.

the garden is full of life at the minute - lots of green, and diffrent shades of it, and a fair amount of red/pink too - the ribes and mymouse's crabapple tree both in/coming into flower. and of course some white - on the bush whose name i don't know/can't recall, and recently on the ground in snow-form *smile*

this post should better have been titled red white and green *smile*[3]

[0] hmm, how much chocolate earlier...?
[1] anyone recall zodiac mindwarp and the love reaction 'prime mover'? i think i still have it on vinyl somewhere...
[2] i don't know fasure that it'll become anything else - no idea whether it is fertilised or not.
[3] for me, that would make a nice short cut to some of my thoughts, and the significances of colours and the growing stuff. how does it work for you?

frog, garden, growing, newt, pond
