and mid this month i got along to one of the meetings of enfield art circle.
they were friendly and welcoming and i ended up joinging them *smile*
they meet monthly, and the focus that evening was a slide show and talk titled 'masterpieces of the 20th century' by the very engaging professor anthony slinn *grin* he took it decade by decade, and made interesting links and explorations, throwing in some of his own work - what he was doing in the 1980s and 90s - cos we were still too close to them to be able to look back with enough objectivity *smile* flagged up a couple of places to visit on my travels too -
coventry cathedral, and the
sandham memorial chapel, burghclere, down by newbury. was very much master - as opposed to mistress - pieces of the 20th century tho...
