catness & fast breaking

having greeted the cats briefly this morning, scousecat, mymouse and i sat down to break fast... a short while later we became aware of one of the cats miaowing in the house, but not the usual miaow of either, and so i went to investigate... and as soon as i saw the (dead) mouse laying on the carpet at the feet of joosy, i recognised the miaow! i hadn't heard that kind of miaow - the miaow declaring hunting profiency and demanding attention and praise for it - for a long time *smile* i gave joosy the appropriate praise, and lifted the dead mouse and carried it (beckoning joosy with me) out of the house, stroking it and talking to it a bit in a way that seemed right, then laid it on the ground where both cats were hoping i might serve them some breakfast.

later i noticed joosy playing with the mouse a bit on the lawn... and then just sitting with it by her side. she's still sat out on the lawn now, which is unusual for her, she tends to stray/adventure away from home for much of the day and come back to check in from time to time, especially to petition me for food. the cats' people are coming to visit in a few hours, so maybe she's waiting to show them her mouse too.

tweety is more likely to be found close to home for much of the day (and night i think), and these past few days i've enjoyed looking out to see her in a slightly different place and/or pose around the garden *grin* (scousecat was reminding us about (what she could remember of) 'cat chess' this morning, and that tweety was probably playing it). perched on the low wall, by the pond, under the bush, in a flower pot... *smile* it's interesting to note that she seems to be more relaxed and comfortable of late around both house and garden - initially she stayed sat under the lavetera bush for most of the time. i've also noticed these past few days that she reminds me of hothead's chicken *grin*

back to breakfast... which (for me and scousecat at least) was indian takeaway leftovers *grin* i really like savoury breakfast *grin* a text from parallelgirl the other day about bus station breakfasts had me thinking to savoury breakfasts in other places, specifically to panakes and curry at 6am at a bus station in malaysia *yum*
