I'm actually planning on buying a lot of new comic books this year. Coming out this week, there's a new Nightcrawler series by Chris Claremont. Could be fun. Soon thereafter, Jim Starlin will be writing a Thanos annual. Later Jim Starlin will be doing three Thanos "graphic novels." Later still, Jim Starlin will be writing and penciling a short run on a Hulk series that takes place outside of current continuity, followed by a run by Alan Davis, also doing writing and penciling. Jim Starlin is a good artist, so it's nice to see that he'll be doing something besides write. I think his old buddy, Ron Lim, will be doing pencils on one of the Thanos stories, at least. Apparently he wrote a Thanos mini-series and Marvel: The End ten years ago. I ought to pick up those, too.
Moreover, IDW is reprinting The Maxx, so I can finish off all the missing issues. I may very well wait for the hardcovers that are to come out down the line, though. Marvel is also printing Alan Moore's Miracleman (aka, Marvelman), after all these years. I've kind of become weary of Alan Moore's nihilistic, hateful bullshit, but I've heard so much about his run on Miracleman that I'll probably pick up the trades. The first -- and less noteworthy, apparently -- half is penciled by Alan Davis, and came out around the same time the two were collaborating on the excellent Captain Britain, so I have hope.
