Faux-dumb women
I was watching something with Carmen Electra and I was reminded of how much I dislike her. She may be at least average intelligence as far as I know, but she affects being a dumb bimbo. I remember when I was a wee yipper, reading a thing in the paper where they talked to adolescent/early teen girls, talking to them about whether they thought acting dumb made them more attractive to boys, and the answer was yes! This is puzzling to me. What sort of boy (or man, later on!) prefers a dumb woman?
I feel the answer is likely low self esteem. They need to feel superior to their prospective mates -- unthreatened. This certainly isn't the sort of male women should be attracting. Low self-esteem is a killer of relationships, I think. I hope none of you have ever felt you had to pretend to be dumb to be attractive to a male. Well, except for Cookie, but I'm sure we all know THAT story!
