So here's this writing meme I got from bertee. I think it's been good for me to look back on my writing, so I can make goals for the coming year.
Total word count for the year:
~50,000, but probably more because I suck at saving comment fic. This doesn't include the thousands of words of WiPs I have languishing on my hard drive...
Looking back, did you write more fic than you thought you would this year, less, or about what you'd predicted? I wrote more fic than I realized, but I wish I'd written more words, overall. I think a lot of it has to do with school taking up my brain.
Where did you publish/archive your stories? Right here on my LJ! But I'm sloooowly moving fic over to AO3.
What pairing/genre/fandom did you write that you would never have predicted in January 2011? I wrote Steve/OMC in the H50 fandom: Pu'iwa. It was entirely itskaylie's fault, because she really wanted to read about Steve having sex with Hugh Jackman. I want to write more in that 'verse! It was fun. :D
What's your favorite story of the year? Not the most popular, but the one that makes you happiest? I really enjoyed writing This is Why We Fight. It's my longest published fic and it was fun as hell.
Now, what's your most popular story? Surprisingly, it's my amateur porn stars Jared/Jensen/Danneel fic, let me give you that. It was for salt_burn_porn, so it was quickly written and I didn't think it was that great, but hey! My porn always does pretty well. :D
Did you take any writing risks this year? What did you learn from them? Not really? My biggest risk was writing an OMC and I found that enjoyable.
Challenges: Starting from last January, I did a gift fic for insmallpackages, two rounds of salt_burn_porn, two fics for kink_las before I dropped out because of school, an exchange fic for j2_afterclass, a round of silverbullets, an exchange fic held at jaredmisha, the Sam/Dean minibang at samdean_otp, a round of shoot_the_curl, a pinch hit for spn_reversebang, and an exchange fic for spn_j2_xmas. Really, all the fics I've written this year have been for challenges or comment fic. That's how I get motivated!

Best story I don't know. Ummm. Ummmmm... I guess can't get my head around you, because of comments, because of how much fun I had writing it, and because I got to write a trope I love for a great person.
Most under-appreciated by the universe Most definitely This is Why We Fight. It's the longest thing I've ever posted, I had such high hopes, and.... 9 comments. I can barely listen to the song I got the title from without being disappointed.
Most fun always set to self destruct, my j2/firefly fusion. It was something different than I usually do but it was so much FUN.
Most disappointing Story Time, my Mishaleckipalooza exchange fic. I just lost all passion for the pairing and kinda just... blah'd it up.
Story that could have been better All of them, really, but the one I'm focusing on is where you came from, my RBB fic. I liked writing it, but I was so caught up with finals and stuff I didn't put as much effort into it as I could.
Story that changed your own perception of the characters That would be Pu'Iwa because I realized Steve McGarrett's headspace is a fucking bitch to write. I'm so much better at Danny. But itskaylie is helping me out! Because she loves me.
Most sexy I debated on this, but I think it's burn to shine, my Jess/Dean fic for kink_las. Rough alleyway sex? Barebacking? HNNNGH. My kinks are showing.
Story with the sweetest moment My Favorite Things, my amulet fix-it fic! :D Sam thinks Dean is cursed because he's being nice. AND SINGING. I made up my own lyrics, it was fun.
Story that made you cry I shed a couple tears during This is Why We Fight. Poor Sam :(
Hardest to write This is Why We Fight, for sure. It was long, and I wrote the first draft - 7500 words - in one day, and then I rewrote the whole thing, BUT I FINISHED IT. So there.
Easiest to write Bright, bright sunshiny day, which was comment fic I wrote for dev_earl. It was a blast to write and I pounded out 2k in just a couple hours, which only a little inspiration needed for the porn.
"Holy crap, that's wrong, even for you" story I did write some random j2 porn with prostitution and knotting, but that's on a locked entry in someone else's journal. It was FUN though.
Most eye roll-worthy title Either "bright bright sunshiny day" or "(uh huh uh huh) i like it.
Most unintentionally telling Hahahahaha that would be can't get my head around you. Guys, I hate bullying, but I love being mean to Jared, and I really like turning Jensen into an asshole. I don't let myself do that much, except for in this fic. I enjoyed it way too much.
Most overdue That'd be where you came from, which was posted a week late, because of finals. But I diiiiid it!
This year's theme and the story that demonstrates it most This year's theme was definitely crazy J2 AUs, so the most demonstrative is always set to self destruct. It was called IN SPACE (J2) until the day I posted.
Do you have any fanfic or profic goals for the New Year?
-I want to write fic that wasn't prompted. I want to write something I write just for me, not for a challenge, not for an exchange, but my own idea. Deadlines seem to be the only thing that motivate me, but I want to start motivating myself.
-I want to write original fic. Something that's fun, maybe sexy, and that maybe... maybe I can publish. WHO KNOWS.
-I have an old j2/d fic I wrote for big bang and never finished that I want to turn into original polyfic. That is something I definitely want to submit for publishing.
-I want to write more long fic! Something above 10k would be great and I'm gonna make it happen.
