back to the Nature Channel . . .

I've been to many places lately and so many pictures to show. I'm going to have to break down into groups the different places. I'll start with Myakka River State Park. I'm actually still going through those pictures, but I'll start there anyways.

There are a lot of places to drive through at Myakka, and drive to and park, get out and walk a ways. As many times as I've been there, I don't think I have seen it all yet. https://www.floridastateparks.org/parks-and-trails/myakka-river-state-park

Priscilla was driving her car and I had one of my cameras in my lap. We find this works pretty well and I spot one side of the road and Priscilla spots the other. We had barely entered the park even ten minutes and I yelled (softly) "Stop!" There were deer about 20 or so feet off the road, a little family....a young buck, a doe and a fawn! We parked on the opposite side of the road and slowly, being as quiet as we could, got out and started taking pictures. They were all aware of us, for sure, but didn't seem too skiddish. After about 10 minutes or so, they began to move further back into the woods and that was where I was able to get the three of them all together.

These are pretty much straight out of the camera with only brightening up a bit and cropping.

These next two of the fawn are my favorites.
When you've got an itch . . .

. . . you gotta scratch that itch.

Soon after we saw them the young buck suddenly lay down and struck a beautiful pose for us. I love the velvet antlers.

This was the last picture I got after they started going further away from us. They kind of ran zig-zaggy, leaping over fallen branches, until they finally all stopped and gave us one final look, then were gone . . .

I couldn't resist doing a little post processing and playing around with this one.

I'm not sure what's next, but stay tuned . . .
